AYAnet, (the African Young Awards Network), (formally the Young African Achievers Awards) has been re-launched and is intended to bring a new dimension to the awards and to give young African people more opportunities to get involved. We want to show everyone just how many groups of young African people are doing extraordinary things for their communities: leading the way, crossing divides, building bridges between young people and adults, and making their communities stronger and safer.
AYAnetis a vibrant and dynamic youth-led program that recognises, celebrates and supports inspirational young people who have made outstanding contributions in a number of areas. The program is unique in being led by a Board of young people and backed by a team of expert advisors, who support the board's in their decision making.
Each year we run the African Young Awards, an opportunity for exceptional young people to be commended for their amazing achievements in one of five categories: leadership, the arts, sports, community, and environment. The prize includes a unique one year package of support and development opportunities to enable these young people to develop and grow. By showcasing the achievements of young people we hope to inspire future Young Achievers and Leaders.
We believe that we can have the greatest impact by working in partnership with others thus if you want to join the team, please we want to hear from you.
